RAYMOND – Hole in the Wall Studioworks on Route 302 in Raymond, will be reopening the gallery today, Thursday, June 18, with adherence to COVID-19 Maine Industry Guidance for Retail Business in the State of Maine.
“After giving it much thought, we have decided to go ahead with our first art opening reception of the season on Saturday, June 20, from 6 – 8 p.m.,” gallery owner Joyce Mastro said. “Due to the distancing restrictions inside, there may be a queue outside to get in. We plan to have a refreshment table outside at the rear of the gallery. Everyone should wear a mask. If you don’t have one, the gallery will provide one for you. These protocols are necessary to keep everyone safe.”
Hole in the Wall is pleased to welcome back to the gallery, after several years, Debra Claffey. Debra is a visual artist who uses encaustic, oil, and mixed media in her work. Debra’s pieces are about the stunning beauty of plant systems deconstructed into patterns of rhythm, color, and form.
Judith Schneider is currently working on investigating place and memory through landscape painting. “My current work captures the essence of specific places,” she said. “They are fragments of a journey. Like dreams, they are extremely vivid but still a but indistinct. This is the essence or quintessence of the landscape – and a true sense of place.”
Gallery hours in June: open Thursday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Open daily starting in July. Contact: 655-4952; email jlmastro@maine.rr.com
The show will be open until August 10, 2020. Please stop by!
