A series built on the transfer of imagery to and from each piece. A painted canvas might be used as a monotype plate. The monotype drawing leaves behind a negative drawing, pulling paint from the canvas. The canvas may get an additional painted layer, or a transfer of paint that has been directly applied to another surface. The monotype created becomes the base for a new piece, accepting new print layers, or wax or encaustic layers, or even collage layers. Each transfer of image produces a particular quality of line and form that delights me.
