This small piece doesn’t quite fit into the series I was working on at the time. I opened a pack of handmade paper that was in the studio waiting for its day. I coated most of the dark neutral toned papers with a creamy mix of oil paint and cold wax medium. Instead of impressing a fern leaf into the paint to capture texture and pattern, I embedded a leftover inkjet print of an amaryllis bloom, and added drawing elements.
