It might be hard to imagine the final image coming from this one. While it has some nice areas, it just wasn’t exciting me. That’s what every artist is after, i think. That moment when all the parts comes together and make you go “wow, ok.” That happened when I added the latest layers. I simplified the composition without losing the complexity underneath, by turning the plant shapes into objects with depth and surface.
My feeling may, and often does, change once the paint starts to dry, and time dissolves whatever intentions I may have been attached to. But, for now, it’s got that little “wow, ok” for me.
