Sometimes you just have to give up and start over. And, often, I can’t tell that it’s necessary until much later. This panel had been in the studio for quite a while, just waiting, not “done” in the way I can often tell with other pieces. These ones that are not quite anything special stick around until something clicks. Maybe a new method or “accident” from another piece will have to be tried. But sometimes the “saving graces” build up and it becomes clear it’s just not working. So, Scrape-Down! Happily I found a monotype underneath that was perfect for a new base. I adhered another new monotype over it and added PanPastel touches. Now i like it again. For now…
