The Singing Tree

These works are both painting and drawing. They begin with oil monotypes made from a collagraph plate that includes canvas strips that delineate the musical staff arrangements, and other patterns such as leaves and metal mesh. The Rives BFK paper is mounted to a panel. Then drawn and incised elements–the foliage lines and patterns–are added along with encaustic or oil and wax paint. Select for larger images and information.
