Beneath and Behind: Selloum

Philodendron bipinnatifidum has several common names: lacy tree philodendron, selloum, horsehead philodendron. It lives in my studio during the winter and outdoors in the summer. It is a wonderful image to draw for its complex contours and intriguing negative spaces. For me it a reminder to keep my perception in the present, both beneath and behind.
