My last post was about a piece I called Cool, Clear Water. It was actually the second piece on this theme. The first was unmemorable, at least to me. Last night i spent some time reworking it. I won’t enter it in the show, but at least it is now a bit more interesting to me. It’s on Rives BFK paper, the original layers are in oil and cold wax and graphite, I added the encaustic after it was completely dry, and directly under the exhaust vent, since it’s not a good idea to be heating the surface of a work with cold wax medium. Couldn’t capture the effects interference colors have in wax, in this photo, though.
